Job Purpose

The European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR) is seeking a Working Student to support its Geoeconomics and Tech initiative. The role focuses on event coordination, communications and project support, contributing to the delivery of research activities and policy engagement. 
 
The successful candidate will assist in organising events, managing communications (including social media and newsletters) and maintaining project databases. This role offers hands-on experience in event organisation, communications and project coordination within a leading pan-European think tank.

Main Responsibilities


  • Support the organization of events, including preparing participant lists, sending invitations, managing RSVPs, and liaising with speakers and attendees
  • Assist with logistical arrangements, including coordination with venues,hotelsand catering providers
  • Contribute to project communications, including drafting and scheduling social media content and newsletters
  • Maintain and update the project database (contacts, stakeholders, event records), ensuring accuracy and consistency
  • Provide general administrative and coordination support to the team, liaising closely with the team’s coordinator and other members of the team
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed to support overall ECFR organizational priorities.

Person Specification

Education
  • Currently enrolled in a Master's in Political Science, International Relations, Economics, Communications, or a related field at a university or higher education institution (please note that graduates are not eligible to apply)

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong organizational skills, with particular attention to detail 
  • Proficiency in MS Office and social media platforms
  • Interest in geoeconomics, technology policy, and international affairs 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Proactive, reliable, and able to work independently as well as part of a team working in various locations across Europe and the US
  • Able to quickly identify and thoroughly manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter willing to support a wide range of activities within a growing, dynamicorganization
